About

Who are we?

Chickopie Games was created back in 2008 with a passion project called Pixel Skater using the XNA engine. At the time it was just a fun hobby for us to work on in our spare time. We had so much to learn about game development, so we decided to put the game on hiatus for a few years after the initial startup.

We ended up creating a text based game instead, called House of 1000 Demons. It was a much simpler game that we felt more comfortable making with our inexperience. The game ended up releasing in 2011 on the XBOX 360, and was actually much more successful than we were expecting. It made us excited for the future!

After House of 1000 Demons released, we decided game development was something we really wanted to pursue, but our skills just weren’t there yet. We decided to take a few years to study up on game design, art, and business management in order to hone our skills.

We both really wanted to finish Pixel Skater, as it was always a dream of ours. We decided to restart the project from the ground up back in 2014, using the Unity engine since the XNA was no longer an option. We also did a full overhaul on the graphics, so it was basically starting from scratch.

We are shooting for a release in Holiday, 2020, but we really hate giving an exact release date. We know making a great game takes a lot of time, and we plan to release when the game is complete. We hope you will follow us on Twitter, Facebook, or Discord and keep up with the latest news!

Meet the team

team
Robert "Rayden" Phillips

I absolutely hate writing stuff about myself, so all you need to know is I programmed Pixel Skater for so long that I'm going insane and I really need everyone to buy it so I can work on something else because I've been on this for 7 years so far and sometimes I dream about what life would be like if I owned a hot tub.

team
Lorrie "Chickopie" Phillips

Lorrie has had a passion for art since she was a child, drawing various video game characters and creating animated icons and sprites. She has always enjoyed colorful 2D video games the most, and likes to create pixel art to reflect that style in our games as well.

team
Brandon "Hondune" Proulx

Brandon is the musician for Pixel Skater and the Savior of Skater XL (Yes, he made the Hondune Map Importer) and he has saved Pixel Skater many times by being the go-to fountain of knowledge about everything programming, life, and just everything – this guy knows literally everything (LITERALLY). Seriously though, real talk...this game couldn't have been done without him. He's a vital member of the Chickopie Team. You can find his projects at Hondune.com
